It appears that Google might launch the rumored smartphone as the LG Nexus 4, a name that surfaced today in an inventory listing at a smartphone retailer,http://prevost.wordpressy.pl/?p=8.

The Verge a screenshot of an inventory listing from Carphone Warehouse that reveals a listing for a device called “LG Nexus 4.” It’s listed with two color options, black and white, similar to the color schemes of the iPhone 5. And while this doesn’t necessarily mean that the LG Nexus will be called LG Nexus 4, it does make a little bit of sense given that Google named its Nexus tablet Nexus 7.

It could also just be a placeholder for a phone that hasn’t received a name just yet. Remember, last week, we heard that a name had not been decided upon just yet so it’s entirely possible that this is just Carphone Warehouse putting in a name just to occupy space until the real name arrives.

Thus far, we’ve also seen names like LG Optimus Nexus and LG Optimus G Nexus pop up as well, the latter of which because the phone is based on the specifications of the LG Optimus G, a device that is headed to AT&T and Sprint later this year.

The listing unfortunately reveals nothing about the device’,http://kiwi.jigsy.com/;s release date. A launch is presumed to be coming sometime later this month, possibly at the All Things D: Dive Into Mobile conference where Andy Rubin, Google’s Android chief, will be taking the stage. He announced the Motorola Xoom and Android 3.0 Honeycomb at the same conference back in 2010.

It doesn’t reveal the price either though we suspect that it will be cheap based on leaked specifications from someone who is currently in possession of the device. The LG Nexus is rumored to have an HD display, quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and an 8MP camera but it has also supposedly been graced with 8GB of storage space and no microSD card slot, something that points to the companies trying to keep the price low.

The LG Nexus may not be the only Nexus smartphone to launch this year though as HTC, Samsung and Sony are all rumored to be making their own Nexus smartphones.

It’s unclear if those phones would share the Nexus 4 moniker if that’s the name that LG and Google go with for their smartphone.
